1. Mục tiêu đào tạo/ Course objective
Understand the basic principles and international standards of human rights and the implications of these principles and standards in the world.

2. Nội dung tóm tắt| Summary of content
1) The concepts, subjects, sources and methods of regulation of international human rights law,
including an overview of the rights and freedoms.
2) Civil and political rights.
3) Economic, social and cultural rights.
Pre-requites
§ Strong interest in area studies on human rights laws
§ Having law or political science, international relations, sociology back ground would be an asset.
§ Being able to participate in the discussions
Examination and Assessments
§ Student is requested to examine and analyse human rights in norms and standards in a written exam /term paper - 40 %
§ Each student is to prepare an essay on one of the issues regarding human rights in the world. The paper is about 1500-2000 words in length– 40 %
§ Each student is expected to read the materials and participate actively in the class – 20 %
The assessment of paper will be based on the following criteria;
(i) Clarity of the theme, purpose and rationale of the paper;
(ii) Relevance and sufficiency of the literature consulted
(iii) Appropriate use of theories or concepts to frame the study;
(iv) Appropriate use of the data and methods;
(v) Clarity of tables and figures (if any);
(vi) Appropriate interpretation of the findings including soundness and internal consistency of reasoning and arguments advanced;
(vii) Clarity of the paper's organisation and structure;
(viii) Clarity and conciseness of writing
